INSTRUCTIONS FOR DATABASE & MAPPING
Hint: "Any word underlined in the database is a Link Click It"
Enter - Lease Number & or Lease Name & or Operator & or Field Name & or API Number.
Click -Search - (The more boxes you fill in the better your results unless using the API Number)
Hint:"If you receive no recordstry removing some data from your search like the lease name, then choosing from the results."
(Example of data to enter: 1 Sweet Pea Fee, Jims Water Service, Morton, 922016)
Lease Number = All or part of a number in the lease name (example:1)
Lease Name = All or part of the lease name without the number (example: Sweet Pea)
Hint: "Lease names & numbers can be very different from what you think they are.
sometimes it's best to leave blank and search an operator & field then choose the lease from the results."
Operator = All or part of the operators name
Example: (Jims, or Jims Water, or Jims Water Service Inc.)
Hint:" the exact name is best but if your not sure only put in part of the name."
Field = All or part of the field name (example: Morton)
API Number = Last 6 numbers of the API Number (example 922016)
Hint:" This is the most accurate way to find a well,
by having the API number you do not need any other data
entered just the API number will bring back the well requested."
Click - Search Button - Then scroll down to view your results.
Hint: "Be patient while it searches over 600,000 wells, it may take a minute depending on the speed of your computer."
In the List Of Oil Wells results find the well your looking for. You have 3 map choices.
1. Click State To view a static map of the State with oil wells plotted.
2. Click Field To view a static map of the field.
3. Click MAPto view an interactive map of the well chosen.
This will open Google Earth and allow you to zoom in & out along with pan the area.
Hint: "This is the best way to find a well along with roads and area around it."
